On this past Monday, I arrived home from a two-week road trip. I went from North Carolina to Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and then back through Tennessee to North Carolina.
The main purpose of my trip was to celebrate my Mom and Dad’s 87th birthdays. Dad turned 87 on March 16 - Mom will turn 87 on August 16. Other than that birthday event, a hair appointment, and one other group meeting, I had nothing planned.
That is very unusual for my trips to Cincinnati/northern Kentucky area. Usually, I am packed day and night with little chance to rest, so I was wondering how it would go.
It was an amazing trip. I saw people whom I had not seen in years and years, and at the birthday party, all five of us kids were there to celebrate with my parents for the first time in over 25 years!
I found myself deliberately slowing, listening to my inner guidance directing me who to call and where to go. A few times, I thought I was going one place and ended up another, which then broke me open with healing grief and great joy. A few times, I felt guided to call one person in the message was actually for another, which brought resolution to past hurts and connection on a new level.
Overall, it was one of my best visits ever, and I feel so blessed to recognize these love letters on the path, of which there are legion
Over the past 35 years, I have been listening and following God‘s voice for direction, for healing, for showing me at least one good thing a day…. It has been a beautiful way to walk through the world.
The truth is, I have found more good things than I could ever have imagined, and I truly believe the best is yet to come.
